Edit your audio
without uploading it.

Cut out the fumbles, take the hiss off, even out a voice that wandered from the microphone, and save it as MP3 or WAV. Whatever you already recorded is usually salvageable, so you will not have to do it again.

The tools

Six jobs, one editor. Every one of them works on the file you already have, without an account.

What it will not do

Most tools tell you what they can do. The useful half is the rest, so here it is before you spend an hour finding out.

It is not an AI speech model

The noise filter is a classical one. It can only take away what is there; it cannot invent detail a neural enhancer would.

It cannot remove a slamming door

Steady noise comes out cleanly. One-off sounds and room echo do not; you silence those by hand on the timeline.

It cannot improve on a phone call

An AMR memo is telephone quality by nature. Converting it will not add what the phone never recorded.

It will not ask you to sign up

There is no account, because there is nothing to store. No watermark and no file size tier either.

In more detail

Why it is private by design

Most online audio tools upload your file to a server, process it there, and let you download the result. TidyAudio does not have a server to upload to. The whole editor is delivered to your browser as a page, and from then on your device does the work: decoding, editing, noise removal, encoding. That is not a policy promise you have to trust, it is how the software is built. It also means there is no queue, no file size tier and no waiting for an upload on hotel wifi.

What is inside

  • A real editor: waveform view with zoom, selections, cut and stitch with seamless joins, fades, undo across every operation.
  • Noise cleanup: a proper spectral filter that learns your room tone, with light, medium and strong settings.
  • Volume levelling: every spoken passage brought to a target loudness without the pumping of a naive compressor.
  • Music beds: lay music under a voice with automatic ducking, so the bed drops while you speak and returns in the gaps.
  • Joining: order pieces by drag, set gaps or long silences, match levels across recordings, crossfade the joins.
  • Conversion: export as WAV or MP3 at your choice of bitrate, sample rate and channels, including from AMR voice memos.

Common questions

Is TidyAudio really free?

Yes. Every feature is free, with no signup, no watermark and no artificial limits. The site is supported by unobtrusive ads.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. All processing happens in your browser on your own device. The only things fetched from the internet are the page itself and, on first use, the MP3 encoder and AMR decoder libraries, which are code, not your audio.

Which formats are supported?

Reading: WAV, MP3, M4A, OGG, FLAC and anything else your browser can decode, plus AMR voice memos. Writing: WAV (lossless) and MP3 at 96 to 320 kbps.

Does it work offline?

Mostly, yes. Once the page is loaded, editing and WAV export work with no connection. MP3 export and AMR decoding each fetch their codec once, then they are cached.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. The layout adapts to small screens. Very long recordings are more comfortable on a desktop because audio takes roughly 10 MB of memory per stereo minute.

Open it and drop a file in

Nothing to install, no account, and the recording stays on your machine. If it turns out not to be the tool you needed, you have lost ten seconds.
